The purpose of your character's journal (aside from the obvious: to participate in the role play) will be two-fold: to post flashbacks that will be integral to community posts, and to narrate what is going on in the RP and in any private RP sessions.
FLASHBACKSOne of the most intriguing components of the show is the flashbacks that give us a glimpse at what the characters were like (and what they were up to) prior to the plane crash. The flashbacks involve key events from the past that further our understanding of the characters, foreshadow future events, and generally provide us more information. For this RP, you will be creating flashbacks for your characters to work in tandem with community posts.
While some flashbacks could potentially be role played, most of them cannot, as we do not have the necessary characters to make it successful (i.e. family, friends, etc.). For this reason (and to keep the community free of clutter), we have opted to have players use their character's journal to post said flashbacks and link them in relevant posts.
When posting flashbacks in your character's journal, please use the following format:
FLASHBACK
Year:
Location:
"JOURNAL"/"DIARY" ENTRIESEach character will also keep a log of their personal thoughts and any other events that may occur outside of the role play (i.e. private role plays or events discussed between players of the characters involved). Other characters are permitted to comment on the entries.
Note:
- If you do not want anyone to comment on your entries, disable comments.
- If you do not wish the content of your entries to be considered public knowledge, specify in the entry's title. (An example of a "private" journal entry would be: "JOURNAL: [DAY # (PRIVATE)". A "public" entry would be: "JOURNAL: [DAY #] (PUBLIC)".
TAGSTo keep your character's journal organized and to avoid confusion, please use tags accordingly. We ask that you use the following tags system:
For flashbacks: !flashback
For journal entries: !journal: public OR !journal: private -- this depends on the content of the entry.
